Aah... nap time.

So, although I gave the synopsis of what's been going on, I didn't get a chance to elaborate on any of the high lights. So here are a few:

December 30, 2009, a huge surprise for Papa and Averie! My mom and I took Averie and Evan to visit my dad at work on his birthday. Averie thinks that all fire engines are Papa's trucks (currently pronounced "chucks"), but she actually did get to see Papa's trucks... and boy was she in heaven running from truck to truck, steering and turning on the lights. I don't think my dad will soon live down the "Papa come!," with a swift slap to her thigh-- as in calling the dog-- his friends at the station thought it was pretty hilarious!

Averie's birthday, New Year's Eve, Rob took the girls to the bouncy jumpy place here in town. They came back tired and hungry... but I think that they had a really good time! She can "foof" out her own candles this year, and knows that there are two of them. It just blows me away how smart she is! Me, being technologically challenged can't hook up the video camera to load the video of the bouncy house, so here are some pictures of opening presents at home and her Very Hungry Caterpillar cake. Averie got lots of books again this year! I am so happy that she loves to read so much. Her current favorite book is Good Night New York (pronounced New Eruk), a gift from Auntie Bo.

Speaking of Auntie Bo, she just left, back home to New Eruk City... but it was a definite high light of this past month to have her home! Averie took to her like a personal competitor, taking out all of the two-year-old stereotypical behaviors on her auntie (sorry, sis!) but in the end gave lots of loves. Evan, on the other hand, felt right at home with auntie and gave her all of the loves and cuddles he could! Hopefully she'll be able to come home soon again...???

We're all in recovery mode this week... I'm finally getting a feel for what it will be like to be home, and not insanely busy with a new born and Christmas, and birthdays, and New Year's Eve. It's nap time now, my house is quiet, and I have a little time to sit and relax (although there are a hundred other things I could or should be doing)... it's nice.
